Our journey is a beautiful testament to the grace of God and the magic of destiny. Elie Elkhoury, originally from the town of Mendota Heights, Minnesota, has roots that reach back to the small village of Ijdabra in Lebanon. His bride, Sally Kamel, hails from the picturesque town of Batroun, Lebanon. Though they grew up on opposite sides of the world, their hearts were always destined to find each other.

Our shared Maronite faith has been the cornerstone of our lives. It is a faith that binds us, our families, and our love for our homeland. We both cherish our rich Lebanese heritage and the values our families and faith have instilled in us.

Our love story began in the most unexpected way.

As a traveling sales director, Elie’s job took him all over the country. Despite trying to stay close to family, there was a void in his life—something, or rather someone, was missing. Little did he know, that someone was Sally. Similarly, Sally was living a wonderful life but felt that something or someone was missing, which turned out to be Elie.

One year, Elie's company assigned him a new sales territory: Florida. He visited a few times, unaware that one of these trips would change his life forever. On an earlier trip to Florida, Elie saw Sally dancing at Acropolis, a Lebanese-Greek Tavern. The moment he saw her, Elie somehow instantly knew that he was going to marry her. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, and he prayed that he would have a chance to see her again someday.

A few months later, through mutual friends, whom one also happens to be our wedding DJ!, Elie was invited to Tampa for a day in the sun. That evening, those same friends invited him to a karaoke night, and it was there that everything changed.

The moment Sally walked through the door, time seemed to stand still. Elie was speechless as he saw the girl from Acropolis that he had seen months ago! He couldn't believe his eyes. She was like a beautiful angel, and Elie knew instantly that his life would never be the same. From the moment they met, they had a strong, out-of-this-world attraction and mutually felt that they had found their true love. Since then, they couldn't leave each other's side.

Elie extended his trips to Florida and couldn’t stay away. Living in Atlanta at the time, he began booking trips to Tampa every weekend to visit Sally.

They started exploring islands and beaches and began dreaming of starting a family together in sunny Florida. Eventually, Elie's weekend trips turned into him putting his house up for sale, finding a new job in Florida, and moving to Tampa to be as close as possible to Sally.

Their love continued to grow through many adventures and travels. They celebrated Thanksgiving in Minnesota, spent a romantic week in New York City for Christmas, and welcomed the New Year together in Tampa.

In April, Elie planned a special surprise for Sally: a trip to Miami to see one of her favorite Lebanese artists, Elissa, in concert. Unknown to her, Elie had planned a very romantic proposal on the beach in Miami. Under the stars and with the sound of the waves, Elie asked Sally to marry him.

From the moment we met, we have been inseparable. Our love for each other grew rapidly, and we soon realized that we were meant to be together. We are forever grateful to have found each other and to be embarking on this incredible journey together.
